1. President's report
Jeremy T thanked those for attending the AGM and
highlighted the need for the new players to join the club. Once
new players become available, it is vital that we look after them,
make them feel welcome and ensure they enjoy playing for the club.
Secondly, it is his intention to work at the direct debit list and
try to secure further funds for the club from the older generation.
2. Chairman's report
AM informed everyone that the club had progressed
internally and in the eye of the Arthurian League. He thanked the
committee members for their help throughout the year to ensure the
club runs smoothly. Special mention went to Jeremy, Nick Ev and
especially to Kels for organising a magnificent dinner. To Leesy
for organising the hugely successful tour to Puerto Banus and to
Matt for his work on the website.
The urgent need for new players was discussed. There
are too many 30 plus players currently being relied on each week.
He stressed it was everyone's responsibility to help to encourage
new players into the club. In five years time we will be a one side
club if things do not improve.
Secondly the importance of paying subs, match fees,
fines and dinner monies on time. 95% of the club pay on time but
we can not afford to carry the non payers.
3. Hon. Secretary's report
PH confirmed that the 1's had been entered into
the Arthur Dunn, London Old Boys, and AFA senior cup a well as the
pre season 6 a side tournament at Old Finchleians. The 2's were
entered into the Junior League Cup, London Old Boys and AFA cups.
4. Hon Treasurer's report
RG produced club accounts showing that the club
has made a profit of £400 this year but outstanding debtors
amounted to £600. With big outgoings in October for Cobham
and Battersea he requested that the outstanding Debts be collected
by latest 30 September and the new subscriptions arrive ASAP.
JT agreed to write to the outstanding debtors and
should these monies not be received by the next committee meeting
then the committee will decide what action will be taken.
5. Training
A general discussion took place about what everyone
wanted on a Wednesday night. Warm up and then football was agreed
with the captains to organise additional training on a Monday night
or pre training two bridges run.
Oli Bailey and Al Mercer to look after the new players
that arrive and ensure that they are made welcome.
6. Subscriptions and match fees.
The AGM voted that subscriptions will remain at
£60 and £30 (student). Match fees will now be £10
