Lancing Old Boys FC

Committee Meeting May 2001

Date: 6.30pm Monday 22nd May 2001
Venue: At 1 Appold Street, EC2 6.30pm.
Present: Al Mercer, Nigel Bennett, Simon Kelsey, Ben Copithorne, Adam Pierce
Apologies:

Ben Walls, Jeremy Taylor, Pieter Heyn, Robert Grey, Justin Davis, Nick Evans, Dave Gurney, Al Harari.

1. Dinner

The committee discussed the implications from the Tim Ewbank newspaper article. We thanked Jeremy Taylor for writing to Adam Crozier, Chris Saunders, John Airey (who invited Ewbank) and Ewbank himself. We have since had a reply from Tim Ewbank which we felt was acceptable. As a club we felt that we had done as much as we needed to and thus the matter was closed.

Although the hotel is a good venue, SK will continue to look for a suitable alternative.

2. Finances and Outstanding Monies

Balance - £1,850.

Outstanding monies - There are still outstanding monies from subs, training, dinner and fines from a number of players amounting to circa £800. A full list of offenders is to be provided for the AGM. Each offender will be written to and then given 14 days to pay or their outstanding monies will be doubled. It is imperative that these monies are collected before the new season.

Accounts - To provided at the AGM. RG and AL H to liase.

Tour - From the hugely successful tour to Puerto Banus, there was a shortfall of £490. This was due to T-shirt purchase and two tour places not taken up. As the club usually subsidises at least one place it was decided that the club will cover the loss.

Income - Both captains paid their outstanding match fees. There were a number of dinner cheques to be paid in.

Expenditure - £60 to be paid to The Arthurian league for fines.

3. Captain's Report, Recruitment and Club Management

The size of the squad was discussed as well as the players who had been to training. AP and BC to provide NB with players lists for next season.

4.

AGM

This season's AGM will be held at the usual Coach & Horses pub, Bruton Street, W1 on Thursday 19 July 2001 from 6.30pm onwards. It is vital that the word goes out to everyone to ensure the numbers.
