L.O.B.F.C. COMMITTEE MEETING - 26/11/01

At 1 Appold Street, EC2 6.30PM

Present: Al Mercer, Nigel Bennett, Ben Walls, Al Harari, Adam Pierce, Pieter Heyn.
Apologies: Jeremy Taylor, Justin Davis, Keith Goodman, Ben Copithorne, Simon Kelsey.

1. Players and subscriptions

There was a general discussion about the number of players currently playing regularly as well as a number of players that haven't been to training recently.

A policy of 'non subscription' for players in their first season was agreed as it seemed that we were losing a number of players.

There are still the following lads that owe subscription for this season: P Alcock, J Davis, J Dexter, D Greenyer, P White, P Gouldstone. Ben Evans still owes £150 plus replacement of a lost football.

Simon Burton raised an issue regarding a possible reduced subscription for players who train but do not play on Saturdays. The committee agreed that the rate will remain as additional match fees are paid by the lads who play on a Saturday.

2. Finances and outstanding monies.

Balance - £ 1850.00

Treasurer - Due to work commitments Rob Grey has stood down as treasurer to be replaced by Al Harari. Both AH and AM to become the new signatories on the account. The documentation is with Lloyds bank and we await confirmation that the new signatories are in place.

Invoices - Annual league and cup subscriptions, Battersea, Cobham and fines are all paid upto date. PH is to be reimbursed for Arthur Dunn subscription as well as booking fines for B Evans and A Rum. These are to be paid asap.

3. Outstanding dinner monies

NB to chase the following dinner debtors: N Grainger, J Garratt, N Wheeler, A Fiducia, R Isham, T Hopcroft.

4. Club management

The Dunn squad and arrangements were discussed for the weekend.

BW gave the committee notice that he may be joining the travelling Aussies before next season and thus would not be able to continue as the club fixtures secretary.

5. Tour 2002

It was agreed that the club will tour to Madrid in May 2002. The agenda will be two matches as well as watching Real Madrid. PH confirmed that there is a home game against Mallorca in the first weekend of May and will look into possible ways of obtaining tickets. Oli Bailey kindly agreed to organise the tour in January.

Al Harari informed the committee that there is a possibility of joining up with the Rovers in 2003 for their tour of Barbados. Expected cost £1,000 per person. To be discussed in the next few meetings.

6. Discipline

PH voiced his concern regarding discipline in the sides. There is already one red and one yellow in the 1's and there are a number of two's players that are intent in 'backchatting' throughout games to the referee. BC will know the individuals and must inform his players that this must be stopped immediately. Their behaviour will be closely monitored before any action will be taken.

7. Any other business

Insurance - AM to keep track in the Arthurian league meetings.

LOBFC dinner - Date confirmed - Friday 22 March 2002 at the SAS Radisson hotel, Portman Square, London W1.

The meeting finished at 7.30pm

Next meeting Monday 28 January 2002
at 1 Appold Street, EC2 at 6.30pm
