L.O.B.F.C. COMMITTEE MEETING - 24/10/02

At 1 Appold Street, EC2 6.30PM

Present: Al Mercer, Ben Copithorne, Pieter Heyn, Nigel Bennett, Adam Pierce.
Apologies: Justin Davis, Simon Kelsey, Jeremy Taylor, Guy Bransby, Nick Evans, Alex Harari, Lee Taylor, Dave Gurney, Ben Walls.

1. Secretary's Report

Discipline: The club have received three bookings already this season (Jordan, Hayday, Brown). It was agreed that the club would pay Jordans fine but £10 was to be paid by Hayday and Brown. Pieter Heyn to settle the bills immediately with the AFA and then email the offenders. It will then be the captains responsibility to collect the fine along with match fees on a Saturday.

Code of conduct: The club reached stage four in the league's disciplinary table last season and Al M to send Martin Bryant the LOBFC updated code of conduct as requested.

Results: The captains are to continue to phone results through to Martin Bryant by 6pm on a Saturday. The 1st X1 are to continue to phone Hayters results service by the same time. The League have now got a system in place to see results and updated tables and these should be available through our website.

Cobham: The cost of Cobham has now increased to £110 plus VAT per game.

2. Finances & Outstanding monies

Balance: £3,800

Subscriptions: 80% of subscriptions have been paid. Al M to inform all those yet to pay to settle up asap.

Outstanding monies: Al M to chase Grainger for £180. (3 places from 2002 dinner).

3. Club Management

Teams - The squads were discussed and agreed for the forthcoming weekend. A list of every player available this season was distributed.

Dunn 1st round - The fixture away to Harrow is to be played at Cobham on Saturday 14th December 2002. 2.00pm KO.

Vet's cup - The fixture against Forest (H) is to be played on Sunday 24th November. Neil Grainger is organising.

4. Tour Update

Simon Brown is organising the tour to Dublin for the end of August 2003. Cheap flights are to be booked up through Ryan Air when they become available by the end of November.

5. Newsletter

The draft was agreed. Ben C now has 200 labels of LOBFC non playing members and is to get the newsletter printed and sent out asap. Ben C to be re-imbursed immediately for printing costs and postage. It was agreed that all players can see the newsletter through the website.

Lancing Magazine: Pieter Heyn to ensure John Selmon has a copy of our newsletter by Monday 18th November.

6. Recruitment

The hard work that Dave and Lee had done to increase the size of the 1's was hugely appreciated. Nige B to work on a way of contacting the 98/99/00 university leavers.

LOBFC V Lancing College: Al M to contact Chris Metcalf to get this fixture organised on 4th Jan or 11th Jan 2003. The game is to be played at Cobham.

7. Dinner

Invites: To be sent out by the end of January. Si Kelsey to contact the likes of Grainger, Bennett, Heyn, Tipper, Bell to give them ample notice to arrange their tables.

8. Any other business

Arthur Dunn Centenary Dinner: To take place on Friday 14 March 2003. Al M , Nick Ev, Nige B to organise. It was agreed that 1 or 2 tables of 10 will be booked depending on feedback.
