L.O.B.F.C. COMMITTEE MEETING - 26/01/03

At 1 Appold Street, EC2 6.30PM

Present: Jeremy Taylor, Al Mercer, Nigel Bennett, Ben Copithorne, Ben Walls, Al Harari, Pieter Heyn, Simon Kelsey, Adam Pierce, Guy Bransby.

1. Dinner

Invitations – Kels to liase with Nick Rimmer/ Jeremy Taylor and order 300 invites from Hove Printers. Kels now has address labels and will arrange a evening with AP, BW, GB, BC, NB to send them out. Chicken Tikka Massala will be provided. The replies and monies to be sent to SK.

Speakers – 1. JT, 2. AM (player of the year trophies/ Tim Buckley award), 3. Club Member, 4. Mr Brunjes. With regard to the club member, AM to discuss with Nick Ev and approach Pete Alcock, Macca, Bertie Brass or John Dovell.

Menus – Nick Evans will confirm closer to the date.

Guests – Nick Evans to ask David Buckley (AM to find address), Headmaster, David Butcher, Ken Shearwood, David Roy, Chris Metcalf. AM to ask Alex Doddesworth plus 1 other.

Tables– Kels to organise table hosters Nigel Bennett, Charlie Tipper, Neil Grainger etc. Kels to approach Macca, Cloke, Truman to host a table from their era.

2. Secretary's Report

Discipline - To date we have received 5 yellow cards, 1s tX1 – Brown, 2ndX1 – Shiharen, Hayday, Mercer, Kemp. Each player will be fined accordingly and these monies to be added to the players match fee.

Arthur Dunn Cup Match - 1’s have been drawn away to Old Brentwoods. The date has yet to be confirmed, most likely Saturday 15th Feb (2.30pm). Nick Ev and Jeremy Taylor to contact the traveling army.

Vets Cup - The Vets have a quarter final tie against Wykehamists at Cobham on Sunday 26 January. **Stop Press – LOBFC 1 - 0 Wykehamists 0 (J Robinson)**

3. Finances & Outstanding monies

Balance - £3,200.

Outstanding monies - Neil Grainger’s dinner monies totaling £600. All subs and match fees paid up to date.

Invoices - Pitches now paid up for the whole season and the second installment of Battersea training now paid. AH to pay the ‘Cobham teas’ invoice asap.

4. Captain's Report, Recruitment and Club Management

The day to day running of the club was discussed and everything seems under control. Club fines are relatively low. Training continues every Wednesday until the end of March and both captains to inform players.

5. Cobham

We discussed the possibility of a move away from Cobham. Standards have certainly slipped there over the last two years and we will now look into a possible move for next season. AM to approach Kingston Uni ground at Ewell.

6. LOBFC Tour to Ireland

Simon Brown still happy to organise. Info to be sent out shortly.

7. Any Other Business

Arthur Dunn Cup Dinner – AM to liase with Nick Ev regarding taking one or two tables at the dinner. JT and GB expressed an interest in going.
