L.O.B.F.C. COMMITTEE MEETING - 26/01/03

At 1 Appold Street, EC2 6.30PM

Present: Al Mercer, Pieter Heyn, Nigel Bennett, Adam Pierce, Alex Harari, Jeremy Taylor.
Apologies: Justin Davis, Simon Kelsey, Guy Bransby, Lee Taylor, Dave Gurney, Ben Walls, Ben Copithorne.

1. Secretary's Report

Discipline: The club have received six yellow cards and one red card this season. (Jordan, Hayday, Brown, Mercer, Kemp, Butcher and Lindsay (red)). Pieter Heyn to settle the bills immediately with the AFA and Al M to email the offenders.

Competitions for season 2003/4: It was agreed that the 1st X1 would enter the AFA Senior, and the 2nd X1 would enter the AFA Intermediate. These forms to be sent to the AFA before 31st May.

Player registration: The Arthurian League have confirmed that player registration will come into effect next season.

2. Finances & Outstanding monies

Balance - £2,100.

Outstanding Dinner monies: The Club has now received Grainger’s cheque for £900 for the last three years dinners. There are still a number of outstanding cheques awaited. Al M to chase and these are to be paid before the AGM.

Outstanding Match Fees: Lee Taylor and Ben Evans to be chased to settle end of season match fees.

3. Captain's Report, Recruitment and Club Management

Teams: The 1st X1 finished 3rd in the Premier League and the 2nd X1 won Division 3. Overall an outstanding season for the club with pre-season preparation being the key to the success of both sides.

1st XI Captaincy: Adam Pierce to discuss with Lee Taylor, Ben Evans and Dave Gurney the structure of the captaincy for the start of next season with a decision to be made at the AGM.

4. Pitches for next season

We were today given confirmation that the club will NOT be playing at Cobham next season. We are now urgently looking for a new ground. A ground at South Chessington has become available and a sub-committee organised by Al M will visit the groundsman on Saturday, 17th May.

5. LOBFC Tour to Ireland

Simon Brown is visiting Ireland in the next few weeks and should be in a position to update us then. Once organised all monies must be received by the AGM..

6. JIM DIXON MEMORIAL CUP.

We have entered a team to play on Sunday 7th September 2003 in the Jim Dixon 6 aside tournament at Chigwell. 11.30am.

8. RECRUITMENT.

JT to send application forms to Jeremy Mclachlan and all the college leavers to find out if they are interested in playing for the OL’s. Once the list is returned then the addresses to be sent to Al M.

9. AGM.

The date for the AGM was confirmed for Thursday 10 July 2003 at 6.30pm. Venue to be confirmed.

10. ANY OTHER BUSINESS.

Website: Huge thanks to Gibo for updating the site so well this year. It was felt that maybe a revamp needed on ‘lookalikes’ to make it a bit more ‘youth’ friendly. With photos needed for player registration, copies to be sent to Gibo.

Pre-season Friendlies: It was agreed that the preseason will start on Saturday August 16th with a 1’s V 2’s game. With the tour, Jim Dixon and OL day confirmed the only week that maybe available is Saturday 30th August. Old Dorkings, Aldenham, Corinthian Casuals and the school 1stx1 all looking for games.
