LOBFC ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING - 27/07/2005

At The Coach and Horses, Bruton Street, London W1 at 6.30pm

1. Chairman’s Report

AMer thanked everyone for attending. He reviewed last season, which was a good campaign for the 1’s with some excellent results but more importantly the influx of a number of new players. He emphasised the importance of the captains assembling their squads as soon as possible and preparation.

The 2’s also had a successful season and were a better team than their league position showed. Reaching the final of the Junior Dunn was a great achievement.

Thanks went to the Committee: John Hastings (President), Pieter Heyn (Hon Sec.), Adam Pierce (Hon Fixt Sec), Alex Harari (Hon Treas), Ben Copithorne (Newsletter), Matt Gibson (Web), Tim Kemp (League rep) and to the Captains and vice captains.

2. Hon. Secretary’s report

PH confirmed that the 1’s had been entered into the AFA senior cup, London Old Boys cup as well as the Arthur Dunn Cup and the 2’s entered into the AFA intermediate and Junior Dunn. It was agreed that the club would also enter a 5-a-side team (possibly 2 teams) in the Jim Dixson memorial cup at Chigwell on Saturday 10th September, which starts at 11am. (Action - NH and Captains to confirm).

2004/2005 proved to be LOBFC’s best season yet in terms of discipline and fines, with very few bookings and £50 worth of fines.

ARTHUR DUNN CUP DRAW. Preliminary round LOBFC V Eastbourne (H). The tie to be played on or before 5 November 2005.

WEEKLY RESULTS. (Action - It was suggested that the captains and Fix sec should discuss the best way of posting results on the League website/ LOBFC website including goal scorers on a Monday morning).

BILL HAWLEY. The club have received £1,000 gift from the Estate of Bill Hawley. (Action - NE agreed to write and thank them).

3. Hon. Treasurer’s report

Club accounts were distributed at the meeting, discussed and approved. It showed the importance of collection of subscriptions, match fees and dinner monies.

Neil Grainger’s tables still owes circa £500 for the dinner. (Action - NE agreed to chase).

5. Ground

AMer wished to thank Peter Alcock for his work over the summer in trying to secure a new ground at Kingston. There is still a possibility that we will play there. (Action - PA will advise further week commencing 1st August 2005).

(Action - The other options which must be followed ASAP are:

AP – to contact Cobham.
AMer – to contact Barn Elms and Roehampton.
NE – to contact Dorking).

6. Training

Training officially starts at Battersea Park on Wednesday 7 September 2005 at 8pm.

(Action - CM and AMar to continue to organise Clapham common training every week up to 7 September).

7. Subscriptions and match fees

It was agreed that subscriptions would remain at £60 and £30 student with a first year grace for new players. These fees also apply for those who play on Saturday only as well as those who only come to training. Captains responsible for collection of these monies.

Match fees will remain at £10 for both home and away fixtures. Substitutes pay £5. Captains are responsible for collection of match fees and need to be forwarded to the treasurer on a weekly/monthly basis. Contributions towards petrol for long distance matches will be at captain’s discretion.

8. School trip to Hong Kong

It was agreed that LOBFC would make a contribution of £400 to the school from the Bill Hawley monies. Some monies have already been collected so the club will ‘top up’ to the agreed figure.

(Action - NE to ensure that the school players know that we have made a contribution).

The game could possibly be played at Kingston, Barn Elms or Roehampton.

SUN 4 or 11 2’s V Aldenham (a) BC/AMar TO ORGANISE

SAT 17 SEPT 1’s & Vets/3’s V Lancing College NH TO ORGANISE

SAT 24 SEPT Season starts

10. Dinner

This year’s dinner will be organised by AMer and will take place on Friday 10th March 2006 at the SAS Radisson Hotel, Portman Square, London W1 at 7pm. Invitations to go out in January. Fred Wooley and Chris Saunders are the confirmed speakers.

(Action - NH to request that no games are played on Saturday 11 March 2006).

11. 2006 Tour

It was agreed that the club must tour in 2006 and this would probably take place at the end of the season.

The options are:

• Majorca. Relatively easy to organise because of existing contacts and guaranteed 2 games of football.
• UK. Maybe a tournament that we can take part in.

This will be discussed and agreed in the committee meetings before Christmas.

12. Kit

It was agreed that the 1’s would purchase a full new kit and also order the 2’s 15 pairs of new socks. A new kit for the 2’s will be discussed at next years AGM. (Action - CM to contact Dave Gurney to discuss further).

Two possible suppliers are Broadwater sports in Worthing (Action - BCop) and Wisdom Sports in Haywards Heath (Action - NH).

(Action – CM to agree way forward and speak to Al Harari to secure funds and purchase the kit).

13. Any Other Business

NEWSLETTER.

To go out in end of October. Reports needed from Chairman, 1st X1 & 2nd X1 captains, Dunn Draw, Dinner date and last seasons league table.

(Action – BCop to organise).

CLUB NIGHT

Action - TK agreed to organise the club night at the Ship in mid-October.

Everyone at the AGM thanked AMer for his outstanding contribution to LOBFC during his 8 seasons as Chairman.
