Lancing 2s 1-6 Charterhouse 3

Scorer - Williams

The LOBS were ready and raring to go with a stong line up when a no show from the ref threw them off track. Teddy, valiantly came forward and accepted the referee' whistle. This meant the whole team had to be shuffled. Charterhouse were pretty decent and had the better of the opening exchanges. They had a lad who could throw the ball further than a Daley Thompson javelin and all he did all game was throw the ball

in our box - it was very irritating. Eventually, after much pressure one of these throws arrived in the box, eluded all, bounced off the head of a Charterhouse individual and into the goal.

LOBS bounced back, Wig curling a corner straight into the near top corner of the Charts goal to bring things level. With 5 minutes till half-time the Charts were awarded a very dubious penalty by the ref who had finally turned up, if only he hadnt. The penalty was put away -gutted. 2 minutes before half time, the oaf on the right, threw the ball into our area again and they scored again.

Half time came and the lads were determined not to give up. However, there was not enough fight, then the shape went and the Charts slotted in goals 4, 5 and 6.

The only conclusion being that a much greater effort is needed in our next match to get back to winning ways.

Ian - A couple of decent saves, kicked well out of hand but had to fetch the ball out of his net 6 times - 6.
Guy - Battled hard and some good challenges but needed to move the ball on more quickly - 6.
Billy - Moved to centre of defence where he battle hard but didnt get his head on enough of the ridiculous long throws from the oaf - 6.
Ian - Played well. Did the ball strike his hand for the penalty? Probably but lets deny it - swine referee! - 7.
Ed - 20 minutes as ref. How many times did he blow the whistle. Not once - good work. If only he was still reffing for the penalty. - 7.
Wig - Started at left back, moved up front and finished in central midfield - 7.
Oli - Started in midfield and finished up front. Worked the hardest and looked like he wanted to win more than anyone else in red - 8 MOM.
Jordan - Up with Oli for MOM. Worked hard, lots of headers and creative but no way through - 8.
Tom - Debut for Tom and not the best game to start your season. Worked hard but could do with some work on his fitness - 6.
Russ - Started up front but never got the ball into his feet so couldn't show off his great touches - 6.
Al H - Along with Oli worked hard and is a physical player but suffered along with the rest of us - 7.
Wes - first game of the season. Some good touches but the ball spent too much time in the air for himt to get stuck in - 7.

Not a good game for the LOBS to summarise. A big improvement needed for the next game. Winning is far more enjoyable than losing but we aren't going to win playing like we did. More energy and more desire are needed.

The game against Berkhamstead this Saturday is postponed but the ones have a match so let me know if you want to make yourselves available for them. The next 2's game is on the 8th December, opposition tba. Please let me know your availability.
