Scorers: White, Bailey
Great game at the weekend and despite only having 9 players we
borrowed a couple of lads from the school (Geoff and Brian!!)
and played some excellent football to get a 2-0 win. Some great
performances all round;
Team Summary
Bob Black - little to do all day but quality
penalty save
Bertie Brass - classy and assured as ever, picked up an injury
but has 12 mths now to recover
Steve Mc - after 6 mths out injured was solid at the back and good
link up play on the left hand side
Billy - excellent Phil Neville utility role and great assist for
1st goal
Piercey - MOM performance, bossed the midfield
Al Merce - non-stop chat as usual but despite that was busy and
very effective
Oli - rather happy with my Ronaldinho toe poke for 2nd goal…..
Cat - great run & brave header for the first goal and ran tirelessly
all afternoon
Higgo - managed to get a few good headers in on goal despite a
wrist injury and food poisoning (smiled throughout & looked
like he thoroughly enjoyed the 90 minutes...)
So a great start to the campaign but despite lots of people expressing
an interest availability is still v poor as we only had 6 players
and had to include some non-Vets which isn’t an option for
the Cup games. Please all make sure you put the dates in your calendar
and keep them free - I'll be sending out next email in a couple
of weeks for the Harrovians friendly but dates are;
Sunday 28th October - Old Harrovians (Bank of England)
Sunday 18th November - Old Wykehamists (Winchester) 1st round of
Cup
Sunday 24th February - Old Harrovians (Bank of England)
