Harrow 1-6 Lancing Vets

Chris Williams

Scorers: A Kelsey (3), White, Bailey, Burton

MOM: A Kelsey

Tremendous performance yesterday from all 13 players and an absolute joy to be
involved in such an emphatic win - perfect preparation for the first round of
the Cup in 2 weeks time

Sunday's 13 heroes...

Goulo [debut] - didn't have too much to do but looked solid and undone by a
dodgy pitch (?!!)/ slippery ball for the Harrovians token goal

Frostie - 1st game this season and carried on his good form from last season
with some great runs down the right. Very composed finish for the final goal
from a tight angle

Dougal - 2nd game for the vets and looked a class act at the back with Toddy
(both of whom were close contenders for MOM). Will be a great asset if can play
this season

Toddy - solid and reliable as ever, won every tackle and great distribution

Stevie Mc - unfortunate to have to go off with an injury but solid first half
and some good link up play with Evans

Grainger - wanted to play 20, only lasted 10 but enough time to show off his
silky skills (and get nutmegged)

Otto - added a bit of bite to the midfield and didn't give the Harrovians any
time on the ball

Piercey - bossed it once again in absence of Al Merce and won everything

Dex - first game back this season and looks in good form. Some surging runs and
the oppo found him hard to handle

Evans junior [debut] - had a surprisingly quiet game but will probably take a
bit of time to adjust to the pace of the English game after so long in Oz.
Worked hard though and could develop into a good player

Cat - awesome work rate as ever and terrorised the Harrovians back four. Also
notched a well deserved first for the season

Kelsey junior ["debut"] - not the quickest forward to grace the Arthurian League
but what he lacks in pace he makes up for in guile. A quickfire 19 minute
hatrick won us the game early on and a well earned man of the match award

Oli - got shouted at by Ev but still enjoyed it & scored

Mr Kesley accepting the Man of the Match award.

Now for the big one on the 18th Nov against the Wykehamists. Even though we won
3-0 in the same fixture last season they have a couple of players back this year
and Harrovians captain reckons it will be tight as beat Harrow 5-2 last week.
This weekend showed that if we can get 13 players out and everyone's up for it
we'll do well and enjoy it so make sure you keep it free.

Next Fixtures:
Sunday 18th November - Old Wykehamists (Winchester) 1st round of Cup
Sunday 24th February - Old Harrovians (Bank of England)
